Once invited for interview:
- Agree the location, date, time of your interview and ask for written confirmation.
- Request the name and position of whoever will be carrying out the interview.
- Request directions for travel and/or parking.
Prepare by researching useful background information:
- Use the internet, company databases, newspapers to look up the company history and financial details. You might find the following links useful:

- You should develop a firm understanding of how the company has evolved, where it is based, its operations, locations, products and whether it is and will be financially profitable.
Know yourself:
- Consider your long-term goals and set short/medium-term goals that will help you to achieve them.
- Re-read your CV and any materials connected with the role, such as job descriptions.
- Identify your main strengths and weaknesses.
- Be prepared to explain why these are such, and how you are overcoming weaknesses.
- Think of the questions that you may be posed, and those you want to ask.
- Make reference notes.
