duties to client firms

Meadows Consulting Ltd (trading as Meadows) will - when providing temporary or contract staff services:

1. Endeavour to take up references as appropriate on temporary or contract workers before providing them on assignment to clients. If for exceptional reasons referees have not been contacted, the client will be informed.

2. Comply fully with current legislation relating to deduction of PAYE and National Insurance from temporary and contract workers.

3. Take all reasonable steps to ensure that temporary or contract workers are suitable for the assignments for which they are put forward by seeking and recording detailed information about the client's requirements and by proper selection procedures including, if appropriate, skills testing of temporary or contract workers.

4. Provide clear terms of business to the client as soon as possible after receipt of an initial booking from a client.

5. Submit details of temporary or contract workers only in respect of registered vacancies or field of potential interest.


Meadows Consulting Ltd (trading as Meadows) will - when providing permanent recruitment services:

1. Reach a clear understanding with clients on the procedure to be adopted for submitting a candidate's details to the client.

2. Deliberately not attempt to induce any candidate to leave his or her employment where the member has previously received a fee for placing the candidate elsewhere unless the employer agrees to that approach.

3. Take all reasonable steps to ensure that candidates are suitable for the vacancy for which they are submitted by seeking and recording detailed information about the client's requirements and by proper selection procedures including, if appropriate, skills testing of the candidate.

4. Send terms of business to the client as soon as possible after registering that client’s vacancy.

5. Inform the client where the member has not carried out a face-to-face interview prior to the client interviewing the candidate.

6. Keep confidential all information about a client except for the purpose of filling a vacancy.

7. Not send by fax/email or otherwise unsolicited details of candidates.

8. Submit details of candidates only in respect of registered vacancies or fields of specific interest.

Meadows Consulting Ltd (trading as Meadows) will – when providing permanent recruitment services:

1. Keep the client fully informed in writing of its terms of business.

2. Offer only to clients suitable candidates with relevant experience or qualifications.

3. Treat all client information as confidential unless the client states otherwise.


Meadows Consulting Ltd (trading as Meadows) - when providing permanent recruitment services:

1. Will not attempt to approach a client's current staff or contractors with a view to finding them alternative employment, without the permission of the client. 

2. Will not attempt to influence the client's decision by offering misleading information about a candidate.

3. Will not advertise specific vacancies unless the client has formally registered these with the agency.
