code of good recruitment practice

Meadows Consulting Ltd (trading as Meadows) will:

1. Ensure that all staff are aware of and comply with the provisions of the 1973 Employment Agencies Act and Regulations and other relevant legislation including provisions relating to equal opportunities, taxation and health and safety and that the provisions of the code and other relevant codes are brought to their attention. Where a provision in this code is less stringent than that of the code of a specialist section to which a member belongs, the relevant provision of that code will apply.

2. Ensure that staff are adequately and appropriately trained to carry out their duties effectively.

3. Develop a positive policy towards and take necessary steps to promote equal opportunities in employment.

4. Ensure that operations - both for the home and the overseas markets - are conducted in accordance with the appropriate laws and regulations including the Employment Agencies Act 1973 and those relating to taxation and statutory deductions.

5. In every event shall contact the candidate in the first instance to discuss a potential position and to gain his/her permission before forwarding the candidate's CV to a client.
